I bought this truck based on actual needs and reliability. From the first day I was impressed with the workmanship of this truck. The fit and finish was top notch. The ride was great. I averaged 26 mpg on my first road trip. And can have a heavy foot at times. I have had all the brand name trucks in my past. But I do not intend on going off road nor hauling over the 5000 pound limit. This truck fits my needs.

Love my 2017 RTL-E - even better than my 2006 RTL - all the controls are where they are supposed to be on a Honda. I have owned it for a year now. I haul a small camper trailer (3600 lbs), kayaks and bikes - no problem. Actually does better on the back roads than on the highway with all that stuff. The only thing I have noticed is a grunting sound that I think only happens when the A/C is on - still trying to locate that. Exceptional ride, I do get comments and questions. The guys at Lowes and Home Depot like to make comments about not being a real truck. Trust me it is more of a real truck than I need. I like the everyday comfort of the drive and the ability to haul 3/4 ton of gravel (which I have done), and other things. I did look at the GM offerings, especially since they are made up the road from where we live, but their product is more expensive and does not have the quality record of the Honda. The only thing that was irritating was dealing with the dealer and Honda production about when it would arrive. Apparently Scarlet Pearl with Beige interior is a difficult to get. IMO, if you put money down when you order the vehicle, Honda should put it at the top of the build list and not make it go through the machine of allotments based on what the dealer sells. Honda severely underestimated how popular this vehicle is and is going to continue to be. This vehicle is 1 of 8 Honda that we have had over the years. My wife is jealous because of all the bells and whistles that my Ridgeline has that her 12 Odyssey doesnt - something tells me that a 2018 is on the horizon for someone. She even calls my Ridgeline an Odyssey with a pick-up bed ever since we read an article about the production process. The best truck out there for the everyday driver who needs to haul stuff every once in a while.

Purchased this truck because of my confidence in the Honda product and for the specific need to travel the USA in search of my retirement home. Along the way I spent a winter at the 4900 ft level on Mount Shasta (CA). I moved truck loads of personal property from the Mojave Desert to Mount Shasta and towed trailers. The snow on Mt Shasta was more extreme this year than in recent years past. The Honda's AWD management system performed great, especially once I had to explore the options. Plus I equipped the truck with Blizzak winter tires for the added assurance on icy roads. In one year's time I have hit the 28500 mile mark without a complaint. The only other vehicle that inspired me as much was a 2005 Toyota Prius, which, by the way has close to 150K miles and has not required anything other than preventive maintenance (still has the original brakes). I suspect this Honda will be very reliable as well. The truck drives like a SUV, has all the bells n Whistles of Honda Sensing and has an awesome sound system as well as an in-bed speaker system that sounds better than the systems I have had in other cars. My only negative thoughts surround the relatively slow-loading navigation system. I consistently get 18+ MPG (I do drive conservatively) and my "Eco Challenge" is pretty good. I'll likely move to the Pilot now that my final resting place has been reached. The truck was a little pricey for me, but I am very confident I made the right choice. BTW, the replaced vehicle was a 2009 Jeep Rubicon. Frankly, I do not miss the Rubicon for a second. Peace!
